Position Summary:

The Richland Hospital, Inc. is currently seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position would cover is a second & third shift, with rotating weekends and holidays. The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of work to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment. This position is responsible for cleaning, testing, and inspecting of equipment, observation of all mechanical devices for trouble-free, efficient operation; reporting mechanical malfunctions to the appropriate personnel for action; cleaning specified areas; changing filters; drain treatment; garbage and linen pick-up and snow removal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Competency is the demonstrated ability to carry out the primary responsibilities listed below.

  1. Carry the maintenance pager and respond when paged

  2. Performs equipment rounds and documents readings 

  3. Performs security rounds, secures building and grounds

  4. Performs preventative maintenance of equipment, cleaning and documenting

  5. Maintains hospital grounds and parking area, including snow and ice removal

  6. Cleans designated items and areas in Dietary

  7. Performs floor cleaning as needed

  8. Cleans air supply and exhaust vents for the entire building

  9. Services univents and replaces filters

  10. Performs drain treatments

  11. Cleans and maintains working order of light fixtures

  12. Performs facility-wide painting

 13. Tests Eyewash Stations and Fire Extinguishers and documents

14. Prepares for Medical Helicopter, transport personnel, and patient

15. Assists ER and Ambulance Staff

16. Responds to appropriate codes

17. Picks up trash, infectious waste, recycling, and linens from designated areas and places in the proper storage area

18. Performs other assigned duties as requested
